Scott Ruescher

More than a year after retiring from work as administrator of the Arts in Education program at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and as part-time English teacher in the Massachusetts prisons for Boston University, Scott Ruescher joined the TND communications team as a volunteer in January 2022. He was a Mack Davis Award-winning Reading Buddies volunteer at the Amigos School in Cambridge (for Cambridge School Volunteers, Inc.), a volunteer at schools in Honduras, El Salvador, and Colombia, a mentor and writing teacher for Citizen Schools in Boston and Somerville, and, most recently, a tutor at the Immigrant Learning Center in Malden. An Iowa Writers Workshop graduate, his book Waiting for the Light to Change (Prolific Press, 2017) contains poems set in Memphis, Latin America, his native Central Ohio, and his adopted home of Massachusetts, including two poems set partly in Chelsea.
