We have 5 community partners who work together to help our clients gain the skills and financial knowledge they need to achieve a comfortable life for themselves and their families. Looking for a Career in Culinary Arts?

Are you ready for a career in culinary arts?  NECAT is coming to Everett with a free Culinary Arts Job Training Program to help unemployed adults prepare for a career in the field.  This 16 week course provides students with extensive training and helps graduates secure permanent jobs.  Classes will run Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 3pm to 8pm and Saturday from 9am-3pm at Everett High, 100 Elm Street Everett.  Information sessions are held every Tuesday at Everett High starting at 4pm.  The next class starts October 30th and space is limited so sign up soon!

Requirements

· Legally able to work at time of application and for up to 2 years after training

· High School Diploma or equivalency

· Basic math skills

· Able to communicate easily in English (No test, but general proficiency is required, need to be comfortable in a classroom and kitchen setting)

· Must submit fingerprints and pass a background check

Come and Make a Difference! Be Part of Making Chelsea Cleaner and Safer!  Please join us, the Community Enhancement Team (CET), every 3rd Wednesday of the month. The CET is a team of resident leaders committed to working together to solve community problems and improve the quality of life, the cleanliness and safety in Chelsea. If you are interested in getting involved and making a difference in Chelsea, please join us!

The First Thursday celebration is a potluck dinner that happens every month, and it is a great way for community members to come together, meet one another, and learn about happenings in Chelsea.  Bring something to share! Translation and childcare are not available. ALL are welcomed!

We’re excited to partner with Outdoors Rx for a walk and outdoor games before the First Thursday Potluck.  For September, join us for bubbles in the backyard.  All families welcome with kids ages 0-13. Be prepared to be outside for an hour. Bring sun protection and water to drink. Programs cancel for heavy rain or thunder. Chelsea Happening - Chelsea Youth Mini-Grant

Do you have an idea to increase and support our Chelsea Youth? Do you have a program or activity for middle and high school youth, but need some funds to start or increase your capacity? If so, submit an application for the youth opportunity mini-grant.

The Chelsea Thrives Partnership is offering mini-grants, ranging from $250 to $ 2,000, to anyone who has a great idea for a positive activity or event which engages at least five or more Chelsea Youth. The vision of the mini grant is that middle school and high school age youth in Chelsea will have access to an array of fun, positive and enriching experiences within the city that support them to be safe, successful and thriving.

All Applications are due by 11:59pm on Friday, September 8th, 2017. Up to $8,880 in grants will be awarded in total.
