Overview

TND is developing 66 affordable homes adjacent to the Chelsea Greenway, offering residents convenient access to a multi-modal pedestrian and bike path. In addition, 170 Cottage is only a block from the Eastern Ave Silver Line MBTA station, which provides a direct connection to Boston’s South Station and Seaport District. The project is fully affordable and includes large apartments suitable for families. Additionally, 170 Cottage will meet the needs of vulnerable populations by including two homes for individuals with disabilities and 16 homes with preference for families that have experienced homelessness or are at-risk of experiencing homelessness. Property amenities will include an 1,800 square foot community room sized to fit all building residents at once, underground parking for 72 automobiles and 70 bicycles, common laundry facilities on each residential floor, and more than 15,000 square feet of open space. 170 Cottage is designed with energy efficiency in mind, and received Passive House Design Certification in 2023. Construction on 170 Cottage began in December 2023, and will be completed in Fall 2025.
