The Neighborhood Developers (TND) honors the first inhabitants and our ancestors.  We acknowledge the land on which TND builds—the homeland of the Massachusett People—and the many legacies of violence, displacement, migration, and settlement that bring us together here today. 

The Neighborhood Developers’ office resides on Winnisimmet, known as present-day Chelsea and Revere, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Massachusett People.  The name derives from the sacred hill Massa-adchu-es-et (translates loosely as "place of the great hill" now known as Blue Hills).  We pay respect to the towns of the Indigenous Massachusett, which include Winnisimmet (now Chelsea & Revere) and Mishawum (various towns including Everett).  

We respect the Massachusett elders, past and present, who stewarded the lands throughout generations.  Please join us in uncovering such truths as we pay our respects to the many diverse Indigenous peoples still connected to this land.
